The problem with education and reading is that people have a tendency to actually think about things instead of just taking the leaders’ word.

Politicians like DeSantis make me very worried. I wonder where we will end up in a decade or two from now. The future looks very bleak. Every country that tried to mind control its people ended up in a disaster.

Desantis is a clear and present danger to America. He’s Trump with a higher IQ (which isn’t saying much) but a meaner streak.

“Schools have not necessarily much to do with education…they are mainly institutions of control, where basic habits must be inculcated in the young.Education is quite different and has little place in school.”— Sir Winston Churchill(1874-1965) Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (1940-1945, 1951-1955)

I grew up in rural Florida and got a decent education. Plenty of books in the library, too! But that was a very long time ago. In fact, I can say, “last century”.

Too close to reality for comfort, after Trump fails, need to keep this one away from the POTUS pedestal, might be more dangerous because he’s more effective.

His antics might fly in Florida, because well, it’s Florida. Not sure it will in a general election. Pretty sure he will have to change his tactic. I do wonder though, if his bussing program would be allowed to be included in textbooks.

    More propaganda.

Mostly he is trying to keep these wokes from discussing sex with anyone under 18 years of age.

These woke sickos are disguising their disgusting agenda as a black history class. Since this a family site, I can’t mention what the “history” was.

They want it back like it was when the church was in control and the peasants couldn’t read so the church TOLD them what was right and wrong. Books were rare and kept by churches mostly, few were educated, and the powerful ruled supreme! Sounds so Republican!

The republican base was directed in their thoughts as far back as when Rick Santorum accused Obama of being an elitist “snob” for wanting higher education to be available to everyone – this was in 2012 – and republicans have been dismissive of education (higher or otherwise) even before that – their attitude has ALWAYS been "we’ll teach you EVERYTHING you need to know to be a good “serf” – everything ELSE is “superfluous”!

Remember, at one time, they’d made it illegal to educate their “workers” AT ALL! They “knew” that education would make their “workers” dissatisfied and “uppity”!
