I didn’t dislike math. I just wasn’t very good at it.

I disliked it because I just wasn’t very good at it.

I liked math, because I was good at it. Haven’t used it much in the last decade, so it’s more like a neglected muscle.

I used it all my working life.

Maria, you need to learn math so others can’t cheat you. You want to be sure your employer is paying you the right amount, don’t you? And that the store clerk gives you back the right change? Math is your protection from being cheated.
