    The “good news” is that once you’re in “congress” your salary and perks total more than a quarter million dollars a year and the most you have to do for it is “prostitute” yourself and abandon all your morals – easy peasy…

    The good news is that people understand that individuals cannot borrow more than they (believe) they’ll be able to pay. The other good news is that governments aren’t people… and the constraints are very different. What is the same is that entities who renege on their debt find it hard to borrow in the future. The debt of the USA is much more important to us than the debt of any particular person.
