If protestants want women “clergy”, that is their prerogative. Thank goodness the Catholic Church has held firm and prevented this. Read the commentary from about two strips on this for the debaate.
We went over Free or Not’s thoughts on the subject of barring half of the population’s full participation in Church two weeks go here.
Free or Not gave the reasons some in the Roman Catholic Church think the priesthood should be a strictly male privilege. I, personally, (and a WHOLE lot of other people) think those reasons should be reexamined, looking more closely at the Fellowship Jesus had with His followers and at the (very) early Church. But since he and the men currently in charge of the Roman Catholic Church seem unwilling or unable to do that, nothing will change within the Roman Catholic Church.
There are very good reasons the early Reformers broke off from the Church of Rome. They tried reform from within and finally gave up. There are very good reasons many of us Protestants will never consider the Roman Catholic Church as anything other than a stuck in the 2nd Century A.D. institution.

Was it because he was afraid Judge Knott would leave a knot? Or maybe it brought to mind that biblical phrase; “Judge not….”. Surely not.
