My little Yorkie mix is just like Iggy. “Cold out? Nope mom, not going out ’til spring. Find me a box of pee pads.”

I can relate to Iggy’s plight. I grew up in the desert. 90 degree Fahrenheit day? What a lovely Spring day! Anything below 40… start worrying about maintaining the Smudge Pots for the citrus. I moved to where snow is possible… and look like an advertisement for winterwear wherever I go. The city bus drivers have gotten into chuckling when I get on the bus and give a deep sigh at their shorts.

I think I read we might get up to 12" of snow for Christmas. I won’t be happy if we do – I have to go to two different houses and while I can drive in snow and ice, I will be sober, unlike most others on the road. The chances are also very, very low that our driveways and streets will be cleared as required by our condo contract. I had it so good in my former house. One Christmas morning I woke up to several inches of snow, perfectly cleared for me. I had no clue who did it. I finally found out it was the young lady next door, and I hired her on a seasonal basis every year after that until I moved. She didn’t let me pay for the first shoveling – she said that was a gift. Smart girl. I don’t think she ever missed a flake and if she felt it was necessary, she did it more than one time per snowfall. I miss her!
