Gas prices too high? Get a car that doesn’t use gas. You win, they lose.
Big Carbon holding world economies hostage? Long-term solution: help everyone get into electric cars.
Need to occasionally drive long trips? While most regular driving is less than 50 miles per day, such that one can easily charge at hime, for those occasional longer trips, most new EV’s today have ranges of 250-350 per charge, and the new Biden infrastructure bill will be adding charging stations (using DC fast chargers that get to a 90% charge in a short time) along the interstate highway system every 100 miles.
Cost of transporting other goods (in addition to profiteering and price gouging that likely violates antitrust laws) driving up prices with a ripple effect? More electric cars and trucks (and yes, we are now seeing the development of very large eighteen-wheelers that are powered by either batteries or biodiesel made from commercial cooking waste in restaurants) or hybrids with both.
Cost and reliability of electricity to power the electric vehicles too high? Enjoy do-it-yourself homemade energy produced from rooftop solar coupled with battery storage that does not go down in rolling blackouts.
They want to hold us economic hostage? Time to strike back.
Millions of barrels have been released and prices are coming down. With the arrogant and smug Saudis and Russia, they’re making it hard, purposefully to see America go down…
Saudis were NEVER Allie’s, ever! Who do you think attacked us on 9-11? Then there’s the evil Pooty who is a madman……not to mention Iran, China and the ever loving pal of rumple, North Korea’s Kim!
Hang on to your seats…it’s going to be a very bumpy and dangerous 2023! If we survive it!
You cant build any of your evs or any of your other “green” projects with out fossil fuels. Forcing ppl out of fossil fuels will send billions of ppl into extreme poverty. Not to mention will give absolute power to china and russia but mostly china
I should set aside the entire day today just to read all of these comments! I’d like to have an EV for everyday use. DDW said that buying an EV means “you win and they lose”. Yes, eventually. As the demand for fossil fuels decreases, whether quickly or not, the gas prices will continue to go up and become an increasing burden on those who still need gas. Why? Because the petroleum companies will not lose money. It just ain’t gonna happen. If there are only 27 gas powered cars left in the country, gas will be $18,343,296.009 per gallon… Silly exaggeration but you see what I’m saying. I compare oil companies to banks and insurance companies in that they will not lose no matter what happens.
We had bunch of errands to run, today. 54 miles by the time we were through mid-afternoon. 54 miles on electric only…in my wife’s Ford Maverick Hybrid. Got up over 1000 miles on the odometer, today. Haven’t hit 3 figures of that with the gas engine even coming on.
Well aren’t you smug haters living large by going electric…. Us poor saps …and the minority communities… hope you enjoy your self righteous selves.
Oh…who’s paying for the road maintenance? Yes…us suckers. Pathetic….Open Baby Open….drain that reserve?! Any of you know the purpose of the reserve? I think not.
The oil companies are “price gouging” without being held accountable. They managed to make record profits even during the pandemic. Perhaps, that is where to start.

Lets go back to the transport ethics of 1973. Ask the question … What’s the MPG?
Get rid of that tank and get a nice light car, that’s fun to drive.
Put Steppenwolf in the 8-track and we’re cruisin’.
Did you know pickups and SUVs are far more likely to roll over in a collision? Safe? Nope.
If you get in the car and Go for a Ride cause you’re bored, you don’t get to complain.
