Hate is corrosive. Unless you’re using it as “hate lite” which I usually call “disgusted by” or even just “eeew”. Dislike is better for your digestion and blood pressure, as is disgust. Hate consumes you.
Though you should bear in mind that such distinctions as I make are (ahem) hated by the Rumpublicans who think that white is right and black is wrong… and nuance is just another word for lying.
