The problem with getting fools out of office is that they’re almost always replaced by jerks. The problem with getting those jerks out is that fools usually get back in.
We live in a country that has a “hodgepodge” of ways for politicians to get in office – electing them by popular vote is just one way – another way rising in popularity (though it’s not been successful, yet) is whining about losing until “they” give you the office you were seeking OR if you were already in the office you desired, just refusing to leave if someone else was reelected – children have myriad ways of dealing with “unfortunate” facts they’d rather not deal with.
Some are devised as a result of the founder not really trusting the general populace with the ability to make a coherent decision – re “electoral college”.
“One man- One vote” was fine with the Founders as long as you were White, Male, Christian and owned property – otherwise, they wanted someone ELSE to make the decisions – remember, initially we weren’t even allowed to choose our senators.

Grousing about pols is like counting stars. You always run out of time before you run out of reasons.

Our process for selecting leadership isn’t perfect, but it is much better than having leadership selected by dictatorial edict.

I dunno, Tuc. What he said sounds pretty reasonable to me, if that’s one’s point of view….
