I had a colleague who, in the 1980s (or so) got into the stock market – made money – let it ride – then bought more – let it ride- put a second mortgage on his house – then a third – then the stock market crashed – he’d lost his millions – then his house (he had to move to Sacramento, for crissake!)
All the time he was urging everyone to join with him – and accusing me of stupidity for not doing so.
I really liked him and his family, so my schaudenfreude was limited – until Thursday, when I learned that loudmouth b*stard Alex Jones was hit with what, $45M+?
The commercials for “safe investing” in gold make me laugh. When people pass away, their estate needs to sell the gold at whatever the price is at that time.

Collapsed from it’s own weight? Jeez, never saw that coming. Maybe you can’t be a skyscraper, from twigs and string?

The “Rip Wan Winkle Caper” from Twilight Zone is a great story.
