Usually I would criticize Betty (and there was a moment where she was being a bit rude to him during this arc) but when she decided to go read in bed due to Bub’s loud snoring, she was faced with the option of waking him up to get him to go to bed or letting him sleep. If he looked comfortable to her, then waking him up seemed like a mean thing to do so she chose to just remove herself to the bedroom. She likely didn’t realize he would wake up in pain.
This arc has reaffirmed my opinion that Bub is a sweet, kind husband who takes her abuse way too often. She treats him as if he’s a nuisance and she doesn’t respect his opinions or his choices. Recently, it seemed she had changed and started to treat him better. I liked their friendly, fun banter a few days ago. I saw the softer, kinder side to her, and it was nice. I even commented on one of the strips saying that I’m starting to like Betty’s new way of how she communicates with Bub. I hope she keeps it up. Besides that one snarky comment she made to him while he was on the couch with her, she’s been treating him much better than she usually does.
