China has just launched its newest aircraft carrier, one much more close to U.S. carriers in capabilities. It’s not nuclear powered so it has a shorter range of operations but, then, China intends it for use in neighboring waters to threaten, not across other oceans.
I keep thinking of how close to failure the Normandy invasion came although the Allies were throwing vast armed forces against a fragment of what remained of German armed forces. Amphibious invasions are not easy.

That’s a clever placement of symbols from the Chinese flag on the uvula. Taiwan could at least use it as a punching bag on the way down the gullet.
