The making of democracies and sausages are two things unpleasant to examine in detail

Deficit spending in a recession is a necessary stimulus. Deficit spending during boom times, or to pay operating expenses, is a recipe for disaster. For examples, see Greece, Italy, Puerto Rico, or Republican administrations.

I like the line from Washington; we’re reducing the deficit. What they’re saying is that rate the deficit is increasing is decreasing.

Tax the rich, that would shore up those coffers pretty well!

Sounds like the GOPQ who believe that in business you have to spend more to make more (Stimulus #1). That is their perpetual problem.

The GOPQ can’t differentiate business from politics and inevitably there is a financial crisis. They have precipitated every one that we have had since the Great Depression. Then the Dems get voted back in by the mindless voters and have to spend their years trying to keep the boat afloat and get the economy back to normalcy.

I wonder what the deficit would be now if not for those tax cuts
