From yesterday’s comments, the baby bunny, Chomper, who is chomping on the parsley and kale in our garden center is safe and won’t be harmed. We get bunny families behind the store every year. And every year, they visit our garden center, much to my delight and the delight of customers. I also enjoy watching them when I go sit out behind the store to eat lunch. We actually are not losing any money when Chomper chomps the Bonnie plants because they are what we call “pay per scan”. That means that we don’t have any money invested in the plants. We get paid for the plants we sell, but there is no loss to us for plants that die. The Bonnie plant people come by a couple times a week (though for some reason, they haven’t been by for at least a week – unless they came on my day off yesterday). They pick up sickly plants and replace them with new plants. If any of their plants die, we can throw them away without having to do a markdown on them. It isn’t that way with our other plants and flowers. Those, we loss money on if they die. But although we have bunnies visit our garden center every year, they tend to leave the flowers alone.
And what would they do if she did come?? So nice to see Ches and Lily scheming together. Took the dogs with me for the last time until at least October while running errands as the temps start their relentless climb today. First stop was the dog park – closed for maintenance. They waited in the car (47 degrees at 7:30) while I had a nice win at the casino, then off to the dentist and up to the canyon for a nice cold solitary walk among the still barren aspens along Bishop creek. Back down to town for shopping (and jackfruit tacos for lunch – yummy!), we stopped on the way home for another walk along a different creek. Fred has never liked getting in or riding in the car but I made him a step to get in easier – a plastic tote about 6 inches high stuffed with cardboard and big extra towels and it works! He would never go up a ramp, and this only cost me $6. Poor guy is really feeling his age but other than arthritis, he is healthy as far as I know.
That just might work. It all depends on what kind of treats, though. On another note, saw three rabbits, three robins, and a chickadee while out walking today.
