It is remarkable that the Supreme Court would reach back to the days of witch trials to find a precedent for taking away women’s rights in the 21st Century. I think that tells you all you need to know about this decision.

It looks like she is moving in, possibly from Idaho, or maybe Arkansas.

I have long felt that the Bible-thumping religious right had Jesus, the prince of peace, confused with Mars, the god of war, or Mammon, the god of money.

Now it seems that there is a third alternative: some unnamed god of misogyny.

Illinois is on that list of freedom. Don’t be conned Illinois, do not vote for a Republican governor or Senators, no matter what. Value your freedom and ours, vote blue, blue, blue. Vote smart blue in the primaries. Vote blue no matter who wins in the primary.

Illinois, and other states that respect women’s/girl’s medical privacy, need to create laws specifically for the woman/girl that received an abortion in an abortion legal state to sue anyone that violates her medical right to privacy, by suing her or charging her criminally for having an abortion in an abortion legal state. She should be able to sue and charge them criminally in the state she had a legal abortion, for violating her medical right to privacy and her legal rights to do something that his legal in the state she did it. This should be for all cases, but for women/girls that were victims of rape the consequences of violating their privacy rights should be tenfold. Victims, should be treated as victims, not criminals.

All laws like these tell me, is there are a lot of rapists and wannabe rapists in the Republican Party.

@Lescoe Brandon Why would you need a law degree to understand the 9th amendment?

New York had legalized abortion in 1970. It showed up in “Maude’s Dilemma” the week after Nixon’s landslide in November 1972.

On tonight’s PBS Newshour there was a segment about the history of abortion in the US. Prior to the 1840s almost everything related to a woman’s reproductive health care was done by female midwives. This included delivering babies as well as performing abortions. When the male doctors formed the AMA in 1847, they also began pushing for laws making abortions illegal, partially in order to drive midwives out of business. The effort to outlaw abortion was also driven by a growing fear of foreign nonwhite immigration and declining birth rates among white Protestants. So, yes, there is a racist element to banning abortion.

And when the R’s take over congress and pass a national forced-birth law, even NY will have to comply. VOTE BLUE. VOTE!
