It is not “mega corporations” it is the American consumer who elects to buy the low cost items. Kitchen Aid would make more profit selling a $100 American union made toaster than a $20 Chinese one. American made consumer items 1950s-1970s were expensive, for example a 1960 19" b/w TV was $200 when $2 hour was a respectable wage.Also without unions there is no guarantee manufacturing jobs will pay middle class wages/benefits
