Seeing that those are different TVs, it appears that father and son never watched TV together.
Although I get the sentiment in this strip, I have to say this is not always true. At least not in my household. We do/have done both.
Years ago one of my buds over wrote all the shows that he & his wife had saved…because they were saving so many episodes of their favorite programs
We play in different rooms
never had NES, SNES, N64, Atari, Sega, or any other gaming system in my house growing up
Spent a lot of time with my son trying to beat Maniac Mansion. Enjoyed every minute we spent together.
I never bought Xbox or Play Station or any other game console.
