Are high school history classes that granular (one continent and one century)?

World history was an elective when I was in school. I find it hard to believe that they’ve made it a requirement (although they should), so why did Peter choose world history of all subjects?

I managed to get by grade school and high school. Flunked college the first time. Later I went back for real(I needed a career) and got a 3.75 GPA! I was motivated as I knew my job was not gonna last. It didn’t, company closed after I got my degree.

Everyone who was educated in the USA knows that the only thing that happened during the 19th century was the US civil war.

Hopefully Peter thought 18th century Europe meant 1800’s Europe and accidentally studied the right century… probably not, though
