Congress, along with most state Legislatures have been ignoring the fact that the majority of Americans have been speaking out against DST for decades. Only reason the Senate passed it this year is IMPO because its an election year and both House and Senate are so closely divided.
Interestingly enough, the senate did pass Rubio’s bill to stick America permanently on Daylight Savings Time with NO DELIBERATION AT ALL! The debate on the bill will occur in the House of Representatives.
It turns out that a lot of the “Senators” weren’t even aware of what they were voting for – they passed it with no clue of what they were passing, which shows, yet again that the American Senate has lost whatever little usefulness it ever had.
The Senate serves ONLY as a “roadblock” to decent “governance”.
I will also point out that Nebraska has survived since 1937 with a unicameral form of government, and I suspect we could as well with little adjustment.
Of course, America needs not only to get rid of the separate “houses” of government but also need to rid itself of political parties, as well – they actually serve no legitimate purpose, now (if they ever did!)

conservatives would like to go back at least 70, if not all the way back to the 1840s.
