I would much rather pay more at the pump than get bombed and shot. And I can choose not to drive as much, too.

NOTE TO THE GQP- Presidents have nothing to do with the price of petroleum products. The market is worldwide and OPEC, being the biggest supplier, sets the amount of oil its members will pump. But even OPEC can’t determine the price. Oh, they have tried more than once over the last 50 years, but were unable to actually set the price. Its high now and will likely get higher, but that is the price you pay for the unregulated free market capitalism you worship. The Free Market sets the price. And yet, when your god the unregulated world free market sets the price, you scream about it constantly, saying that President Biden isn’t doing anything to lower the price you pay at the pump. Open up the oil drilling leases you scream so Big Oil will drill more and lower the price. Sorry(not even)to burst your bubble but Big Oil already owns over 10,000 leases that they are not using. Why should they? Their profits are at an all time high, why spend more money to drill which might lower the price. And thus the god of the GQP-totally unregulated capitalism aka greed-speaks(ROTFLMAO)

To the extent that the present administration CAN affect gas prices they have done so – the price increase is, in part, due to the West “punishing” Russia for invading Ukraine – blocking the long-term sale of petroleum products is one of the few ways we have of expressing our displeasure at the killing of Ukrainian civilians and the destruction of a sovereign country.

If you think higher gas prices aren’t worth trying to express displeasure over actions by Russia, then, by all means, complain to your congressman, but understand this, we can keep gas prices “low” or we can express our outrage at Putin’s conduct of the war – we CAN’T do both (unless you want to start World War III, of course!)
