The Democrats need to get serious and use this at least as effectively against Republican campaigns as the Republicans used “Defund The Police” against Democrats.
We need to see lots and lots of advertisements with video footage of Jan 6 superimposed with the RNC definition of that action – all hung on whichever Senate or Representative Republican candidate is running in that state/district.
The Trumpublicans are doubling down on the Big Lie (that Trump won 2020 and the election was “stolen” from him) and the definition of violent insurrection and invasion of the Capitol as “legitimate political discourse”.
Republicans aren’t “bright” enough to understand either the hypocrisy nor the irony inherent in in their “legitimate political discourse” statements, or their inclusion of such ridiculous comments into the national “discourse”.
Initially, the R.N.C. wished to proclaim the 1/6 Insurrection as “nonviolent and legal” but that was a bit over the top, even for the party “faithful”, so they finally settled on “legitimate political discourse” as a “compromise statement”, which while still risible, allowed them to get through the entire statement without breaking into peals of laughter.
Nope, that definitely was a fire extinguisher. Oh, and one more thing—I’ll be taking your tusks for new piano keys and one of your feet for an umbrella stand. We cool?
