Cathy is the perfect symbol of our consumer society.

I am an adult. I can buy what I want for myself. I don’t need a gift. I say this every year here. You want to give me something anyways just because it’s Christmas? Thanks! Put a nice toy in the bin for needy children for me.

When Cathy and Irving got married, they said no gifts. Instead, donate to animal rescue. She’s not remembering that part.

BTW, if you are thinking of ordering any gifts, better do it now. The shipping wait time is getting very close to, you may not get it in time. And you can’t trust express fees added on to get it there any sooner if you do wait.

I stopped looking at this comic on Sept. 27 since there were no new ones. I’ll have to go back to Oct. 29 to read the ones I missed.

I’m not doing Christmas this year and I’m OK with that. My family doesn’t know, or just don’t care about what I like. I normally receive stuff that I don’t want. And forget that saying “it’s the thought that counts”. They don’t think about any one other than themselves. I pay attention to what they want and shop throughout the year to get items that they will like. No more.

I feel the same…I don’t really want any more gifts. I don’t mind giving, I just don’t want any more stuff.
