Luke I just saw your comment from last night about JFK. I can tell you exactly where I was also. In Bethesda visiting my aunt and grandmother on my father’s side. My aunt was a switchboard operator at Bethesda Naval Hospital. She was able to drive onto the parking area. There we saw the ambulance pull up and unload JFK’s body. I also saw Jackie in her pink suit and pillbox hat. We were at a distance of course, but close enough to see enough detail. I think I was ten years old at the time. I remember when we were driving down from PA, my dad was driving and he passed a military car because they going so slow. After he passed them, they sped up and like a bat out of “he double toothpicks”, and passed us. Daddy was mad as all get out! It wasn’t until we got to my aunt’s that we understood why they sped up like that. Then my dad understood.
I hiked for 10 3/4 miles today and it was a perfect day for that activity. Started cleaning house for Thanksgiving and they are saying that we could start seeing more rivers rise over this weekend. I sure hope it doesn’t flood once again.

Hi cleo and Shika! Shika unless my mind goes with age, I will always remember that evening! I saw history being made, tragic as it was.
