I had a deadbeat friend I shared an apartment with a decade ago. When he left, he owed me over a grand that he has never paid me back. Needless to say, the friendship has not survived.
I had a deadbeat friend once like this. He lasted one month, paid the bill after I beat his butt. Never saw him again, which was a blessing.
The last “roommate” I had was my ex-wife over 50 years ago. It seems like that was another lifetime.
