If Dean thought Brent would be mad at him for hanging out with someone else, then does that mean Dean thinks he’s Brent’s only friend or that Brent is a possessive jealous baby? Maybe Brent should hate Dean.

I think Brent is unclear on why Dean thinks he should hate him. Since he is unsure, solve it with another marshmallow until clarity.
