He needs to decide if he is actually a Democratic or a closet remumblican. He mostly worries about his election prospects instead of the service to his state and country.

He is becoming a one person wrecking ball. Mixing metaphors, he has also become the most consequential (pig headed) person in Washington, D.C.

The sad thing is that West Virginia would benefit greatly from this plan, especially if he would stop blocking actually paying for it.

Hard to keep West Virginians backwards and under his thumb if he allows its infrastructure to be repaired. Heavens, commerce might pick up and school buses could get kids to school!

I think that he is a closet republican, but claimed to be a Democrat because he thought it would get him elected. There area number of such politicians who register as the party which opposes his/her beliefs because being honest would stifle any chance of being elected.

Sadly, Biden, Polosi, and Schumer haven’t given up on “nation building” in the rest of the world. They should try that first.

I’m guessing if McConnell takes over the Senate in 2022 with a 2+ margin combined with the failure of the infrastructure and voter rights bills, Manchin will have to go into hiding or live as a virtual prisoner in some luxurious gated Republican compound.

If you betray your friends, your enemies don’t trust you and you don’t have friends anymore. I understand his dilemma…election wise. But he could find himself very alone and friendless if he continues this path.

isn’t it always about their election prospects over the service to the country? And perhaps there’s some palm greasing going on. All under the threat of our country losing its Democracy.
