The US has a shortage of truck drivers too, currently almost 20% of drivers are immigrants. With a likely 50%+ of immigrants(legal and illegal) in meat packing, construction,food service and farm labor.

it puts things into a perspective when I realise that we have a Ford Freestar van that is 2004 and has 298,743 miles on it of which we’ve put 2/3rds of those on it since we purchased it in 2008….our fridge freezer was bought in 2009, and not chip dependant so much…but the newer gas range is a pain in my arse…we need a newer car but not willing to get something that needs technology as much as a good mechanic
