On one of Garrison Keiler’s broadcasts from Phoenix, he relayed the joke that children’s first words were, “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity”.
With lawns and swimming pools over the last 70 years or so, the humidity of Phoenix has been altered, and not for the good. Why have a lawn in the middle of the desert?
