There’s a lot of talk about that, but show me the tests, eh?

Vince Lombardi accurately summed up how Russians think when he said: “Winning isn’t everything; it’s the ONLY thing!” China and North Korea also think this way.

This Olympics is truly messed up. As if Covid were not enough of a threat, world class athletes are being sickened by Weather (Heat and storms), as well as against a doped up Russian team because the IOC has allowed Russian Olympic Committee to field the athletes. Oh…and the USA complains that women volleyball athletes are wearing shorts not 10cm bikini bottoms, and Paralympics are furious that a broad jumper has the nerve to wear Approved bikini bottoms to do the long jump. WTfffffffff

Can we claim that this Olympics never happened, like the Republicans do Jan. 6th?

Changing the name of the team doesn’t change the bad actors on the team.

Over the years, I’ve lost interest in the Olympics. It no longer has the semblance of being amateur sport, too much politics are involved and the countries that sponsor the games drain their coffers only for the prestige of having been a host. Some have suggested they should only be held in Athens after all countries have contributed funds that will construct a permanent Olympic site. I like that idea.

Point 1 – the CCP got their knickers all sorts of bunched up (not really an Olympics competition since that takes no effort whatsoever) about a Chinese athlete being photographed with a strained expression. This is an Olympic athlete we’re talkin’ about. Performing at that level results in great strain. Duh. It was not as claimed a concerted effort to make either a racist image nor to denigrate the athlete. What athlete under those conditions isn’t going to be giving it their all and looking strained? The Chinese like all people are pretty much amazing and interesting people. Like most politicians and political leaders, that rarely applies to their government.

Point 2 – If only the IOC wasn’t run by professionals as a money making and often political entity. It’s currently entirely opposed to the specified ideals of the Olympic games.

I am 74 years old and the Russians have been accused of “cheating” for as long as I’ve been alive (at least)!

I remember “female” Russian athletes photographs showing them with “5 o’clock” shadow long before Photoshop reared its ugly head.

I also remember many heated discussions in gym class over how hard it must be to “hide” a guy’s “package” long before the knowledge of how steroids shrank male sexual organs was common knowledge!

A new competition category should simply be formed in the Olympics – “Transsexual” – that way Russians could compete, unhindered, and a whole bunch of others could, as well, solving several problems in one fell swoop! (This would simplify testing, as well – anyone with too much steroids or estrogen in their systems would simply be transferred to the “Transsexual” category and still be allowed to compete – problem solved!)
