Certainly Cuba has had legitimate complaints about the way the U.S. acted during the 50’s & early 60’s, but that was a long time ago. And, the U.S. has grievances about the seizure of private property and pushing Russia to attack us with nuclear weapons. Isn’t it time for Havana to try to mend fences and begin with a fresh slate? Or do they want to hate forever?
It’s amazing how many people have just discovered Cuba and what the U.S. squeeze has done to her. Maybe Cuba should have changed her name to "West Vietnam’’?
We’ve forgiven Vietnam and we had a war with them.
you know who’s at fault? those cuban ’’patriots’’ who’ve been the ‘’buena vida’’in florida for 60 years. cerdos de dos caras
It’s true that Cuba has been known for its cigars. I hope that we also remember the excellent food, the gracious society (prior to the revolution if not so much afterward) and the personal warmth of many Cubanos whether or not emigrated.
As for Díaz-Canel, he seems to be a career politician who had lost control of a situation that he inherited. Though, more accurately, he worked HARD to attain the position. Will he also end up in the ash heap of Cuban history? Surely so. How soon, and under what circumstances are the more interesting question. I’m nowhere near expert enough (or egoistic either) to predict.
What USA BS! We have been devastating spying over-throwing boycotting threatening starving isolating Cuba. for 50 years, while hypocritically claiming they are a failure. How can they be free or successful with the world’s biggest bully kneeling on their neck? And get this- all the while we made China the world’s new biggest super-power!
