They need to ban private sales of fireworks around much of the west. It’s way to dry and all the heat waves aren’t helping. After the devastating fires we’ve suffered in recent years, I have no faith that private individuals will handle fireworks in a safe and sane manner. Leave them to the pros. I don’t know which is worse, not getting vaccinated or playing with incendiary items in a dry climate.
COVID19+ is a year around menace. The Delta variant is 60% easier to spread than previous types of the virus and has started attacking and killing or leaving damaged more people in the 20-45 age range.
Well, at least most of the partying around July 4th happens outside. That’s helpful in slowing Covid-19. Though the ever more prevalent Δ variant transmits better outside than the original.
As for personal fireworks, our state’s fire marshal is BEGGING people to not buy them, not use them and if they absolutely MUST use them, to do so only on pavement AND with a hose handy. Because he (nor anyone unless the governor declares an emergency and does it) has no legal authority to ban their sale.

Now I’m wondering if there are any “Anti-Fireworks” folks out there. Or, is that a silly question?

The last place where I experienced 112°F heat was in NE Nigeria, on the edge of the Sahara.
