What did Nate expect to happen? Girls hate him, period. The only girlfriends he’s ever had were either new students or from a different school entirely. They date him because they don’t know him. They don’t know who he’s really like.
He has broken one of the main things he says NOT to do in this situation in Big Nate: In The Zone. Mistake #4: Coming on too strong. Not surprising, as he’s literally made this same mistake every single time. This joke has been used way too many times. Then again, you could say that the novels and comic strips aren’t canon, which is correct. But this comic proves how idiotic Nate is. He keeps using the same stupid tactic over and over again, not realizing that girls are too smart for his eggheaded scheme.
Nate is like cheap cologne. A little is not so bad, too much is actually offensive. Nate needs to dial it back from 2nd date to “Hi, my name’s Nate. Nice to meet you.”
