One close friend wanted to be a teacher. Math and science in Jr. High. He made it 3 years before he retired and went to work doing construction work. Worked his way up to being the general contractor’s supervisor on site for multi $million jobs. Said that working with the kids had given him all the skills to deal with subcontractors… and working within the school system had taught him how to cope with change orders and other idiocy from the governmental planners and inspectors. AND it paid better. AND it was quieter at lunch time too!

Teachers are college educated and could make more using their skills in corporate training, for example.

If that’s what STRESSED OUT does to teachers. I’d retire in a HEARTBEAT, while my HEART still BEATS!

Medical school was fun to teach. Especially rounds with third and fourth years. They thought they knew everything.
