National Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Day. I have rhubarb. What I need now is some good, locally grown strawberries. I have some strawberry plants in my yard and I have picked and eaten a couple bowlfuls of them. But I don’t have enough for a pie.
This whole arc reminds me of an old Doonesbury strip during the “Roots” craze. One character meets another in the library where he is doing genealogical research. “Found out who your father is yet?”
And so the quest to find Chesney’s Poppa begins. Hopefully, it will be a successful one. (It would also be nice if Chesney found his moral compass, but that seems highly unlikely. On another note, saw two bumblebees, two tiger swallowtail butterflies, three robins, a deer, a junco, two rabbits, and a sparrow while out walking today.
