With all the first hand reporting being done by social media theses days the concept of the conflict as two sides of story are meaningless. On one side is a regional nuclear superpower vs a desperate populous armed with rocks and some crude rockets.

I would put at more that the US is in an anti-Likud mood. Neither Likud nor Hamas appear to give a hoot about either Israeli Jewish or Arab citizens or about the civilians in Gaza and the West Bank. Both are more concerned with maintaining political dominance over their own political opposition than with dealing with any real answers to the basic problems. Maybe people like Rashida Tlaib and Peter Beinart are correct in pushing for a single state with full and equal citizenship for anyone in the areas, with right of return for all, Jewish and Arab. That would be the only way to have a true democracy there.

Does it mean the US response to bibi’s attempt at Palestinians extinction will be the same as the red states “reform” vs cops’ murderous violence…

Anti-Semitic incidents are rising in the US. Pro-Palestinian sentiment is growing. It’s now dangerous to look Jewish in places like NYC, LA, and other places. People yelling at Jews as they enter Temple, yelling things I won’t repeat here.

The ADL has logged 193 potential hate crimes against Jews in the US during a one-week period following the day Israel retaliated against Hamas rockets launched at them.

Variations of the phrase “H****r was right” were posted on Twitter more than 17,000 times between May 7 and May 14, and similar messages were found on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, the ADL said.

Luca Lewis, a MLS Soccer player for the NY Red Bulls was confronted on the street by 6-8 Palestinian men who asked him if he was Jewish. He is, but wisely said no. The men were brandishing knives, so probably a good idea. Lewis asked what they would do if he was Jewish. That’s when Lewis says the band of men got in his face, one of them said “I’ll beat the f—king sh-t out of you and kill you."

Anti-Semitism seems to be becoming less objectionable to some on the left. Obviously there are always some fringe nuts from the white nationalist groups but this uptick isn’t coming from them, although they’re probably happy about it. Maybe the ADL will wake up to their own leftist leanings. They’re welcome on the left as long as they support the agenda, but when that agenda begins to ignore or tacitly endorse ant-Semitism with silence, it’s time to look for real allies. I hope they wake up and understand that calls for a one state solution are calls for the elimination of Israel.

    It’s not a “mood.” It’s a realization, although a very tiny one.

For better or worse, Israel needs to factor in the mood of the American people AND the American Congress in any decision they make regarding the disposition of the Palestinians.

I think they made a fundamental blunder in abandoning the “two-state” solution – what they have now looks more and more like South African “apartheid” which is an untenable position.

Since when is holding a nation responsible for its actions “anti”? Strange that the Isreal crackdown on “terrorists” came just in time to help dictator-in-all-but name, Nitanyahooey, stay in power for another decade or two? Even stranger that scores of mothers and children turned out to be terrorists. Who knew that reporters for The Associated Press were HAMAS militants? However, all is okay and above board because the Israelis were using American weapons. )<:|

Funny, none of the Palestinian’s neighbors, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, all Muslim, Btw, welcome them as refugees. Nice friends, urging you to fight in their cause.

THE COVENANT OF THE HAMAS – MAIN POINTS

Rejection of a Negotiated Peace Settlement:

[Peace] initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement… There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad.

The Exclusive Moslem Nature of the Area:

    (in total contradiction to history)

’The land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf [Holy Possession]

consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgment Day. No one

can renounce it or any part, or abandon it or any part of it.’

    (Article 11)

’The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian

movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose way of life is

Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of

    Palestine.’ (Article 6)Anti-Semitic Incitement:

’The Day of Judgment will not come about until Moslems fight Jews and

kill them. Then, the Jews will hide behind rocks and trees, and the

rocks and trees will cry out: ’O Moslem, there is a Jew hiding behind

me, come and kill him.’ (Article 7)

THAT is what Israel has to deal with? How does one make peace with THAT?
