So, now, Kevin is reduced to claiming he WANTS a commission, but that it should also investigate “apples”, “oranges”, “kumquats” and various varieties of legumes as well!
Truth be told, republicans are scared spitless that ANY investigation of the insurrection will uncover republican complicity at every level – it’s really not that hard to figure it out!
McConnell refers to it as the democrats’ “far left radical agenda” – otherwise known as “seeking the truth”. Truth is a very, very scary thing to republicans, these days…

Now McCarthy has come out against the idea of a bipartisan commission to investigate the insurrection.
Most likely, because he fears that the involvement of Senate Republicans will be confirmed by any such investigation.
