I did get 2 gallons for the mower. In my defense, the boss made it clear, the lawn would be cut. One way or another.Stood at the pump thinking ‘’Hope no one thinks, I’m a hoarder.’’
I have sympathy for those who have a long drive to work. I used to do that. I don’t drive much now. Make a list of errands and do them in a loop. Yup, just get in the car, put on the left turn blinker and away we go.
Just think.. in a few years incidents like this won’t happen because everyone will be driving EV’s charged from a windmill on your roof. Hackers will need a ladder to hack that
These hoarders endanger themselves by using containers that leak fumes and liquid. They’re also not as smart as they think they are – they’re paying top dollar during the “crisis”, but after just a few days distribution will be back to normal, and prices will likely come back down. Yeah maybe not as far down as they were before, but below the “crisis” price. Another factor that could help drive prices down: less demand for gas as the hoarders use up their hoard.
Lead on tonight’s news: An image of a totally burned out SUV that “had at least one container of gasoline inside”. I was walking past and didn’t find out if the occupant(s) survived, but from the looks, they’d have had to react fast and smart to make it… and considering what they were carrying, “smart behavior” wasn’t in the cards.
Back in the ’70’s in the Bay Area, when all those “lines” of cars were trying to buy fuel for whatever vehicle, I’d asked the question: when there was said gas shortage back then, WHY did the price per gallon go up immediately? Therefore, in today’s world, I ask the same question? Does anybody have an answer? Is it just greed for the Big Oil companies ?

Gasoline has a limited shelf life…maybe 3-4 months, unless treated with stabilizers….

“Better go buy some more gas bags…”
Is that what CEOs say when they lobby Congress?

Some people are driving around with 20 gallons of gas in the back of their SUV’s. The Fourth of July may come early, this year.

The gas lines have already started. Unfortunately, if shortages in gasoline and diesel develop, it will affect deliveries of goods to stores.

Stations should be charging $10 per gallon to these hoarders.
