Presidents Clinton, Bush Jr and Obama spent years building up the systems to stabilize the nations of Central America that had been destabilized by earlier Republican administrations, especially Eisenhower (via the Dulles brothers, John Foster and Allen, who served as his Secretary of State and CIA director respectively), Nixon and Reagan.
The successful efforts culminating in stabilization support and strengthening the oppressed indigenous Mayan communities had brought illegal border crossings down to a FORTY YEAR LOW. The bridge had taken decades to build, but it was working well.
Then, suddenly and with neither warning nor transition, Trump just cut the cord. Just cut off all the support and stabilization efforts that we had implemented to help reverse the decades of failed policies that had previously destabilized the region.
As a result of TRUMP’s disruptive and failed policy, the bridge was blown up, and all of a sudden we had massive caravans of desperate refugees amassing along our southern border, mostly consisting of indigenous Mayans.
By the time President Biden was sworn in, illegal border crossings, which had been brought to a FORTY YEAR LOW until Trump blew up the bridge, had swollen to a new TWENTY-YEAR HIGH.
Kamala Harris, daughter of immigrants and hailing from the state with the most Latinos, is uniquely qualified to restore the previous success. She has already met (via Zoom) with the presidents of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. Stabilization aid is being restored and the numbers of illegal border crossings are already plummeting.
But it takes years to rebuild the bridge that Trump blew up and, while construction has commenced, conservatives have a lot of nerve to complain that, in 113 days, we have not cleaned up the entirety of the DISASTER CAUSED BY TRUMP.
The irony of all the refugees at the border is that much of the reason they have to flee is US weapons flowing south to all the terror groups and armed gangs. The NRA is essentially responsible for the border crisis (which even then wouldn’t be a crisis if we dedicated more resources to processing them and helping them resettle).

Ironically enough, the individuals that set that standard were none other than Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas, then deputy secretary of Homeland Security.
When Trump left office, the U.S. was deporting more people than were coming into the country illegally, the Daily Signal reports. But, under Biden, the number of people illegally coming into the country is more than 6,000 per day.
That is six times more than the level set by Obama’s team to signify a crisis.
According to a knowledgeable source, in one day, Border Patrol encountered 4,700 illegal immigrants trying to enter the U.S. About another 900 were observed but not detained. Another 400 were detained and sent back, according to the Daily Signal.
The crisis at the border comes smack in the middle of the ongoing global pandemic. A Department of Homeland Security source estimates that 15 to 25 percent of illegal immigrants crossing the border are COVID-19 positive.
Indeed, as Human Events reported, 108 COVID-positive illegal immigrants were released into Texas over the last month, with no enforced quarantine – only recommended.

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene aggressively confronted Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday and falsely accused her of supporting “terrorists,” leading the New York congresswoman’s office to call on leadership to ensure that Congress remains “a safe, civil place for all Members and staff.”
Two Washington Post reporters witnessed Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) exit the House chamber late Wednesday afternoon ahead of Greene (Ga.), who shouted “Hey Alexandria” twice in an effort to get her attention. When Ocasio-Cortez did not stop walking, Greene picked up her pace and began shouting at her and asking why she supports antifa, a loosely knit group of far-left activists, and Black Lives Matter, falsely labeling them “terrorist” groups. Greene also shouted that Ocasio-Cortez was failing to defend her “radical socialist” beliefs by declining to publicly debate the freshman from Georgia.

Well, “deny reality” Crane’s rant is a good example of a trumper’s fact-free analysis. I liked Denny Crane on the show – he at least made sense, even when he was wrong.
I don’t think Mrs Harris has anything much to do with the border. Her brief is dealing with the source of the problem, the failed states of Guat, Salvador, and Hondu.
