I wish I had saved all of the worn through jeans I’ve thrown out over the years. I could sell them for $80.00 each now.

My Adidas Gazelles would be worth a fortune. Same as the Adidas ROMs. Not sold anymore.

For some reason, this reminded me of one of the best scenes ever in “The Big Bang Theory”, the “I possess the DNA of Leonard Nimoy!?” bit:

Now if you say ‘Once worn by Tom Brady’ you might fetch a pretty price for them.

I thought it was insane when my sons both spent a couple of hundred dollars for a pair of Reebok pumps years ago. When I was a kid my yearly pair of sneaks would cost $2 at the Chinese market.

Early in the pandemic I cleared up stuff in the “teddys’ room” – aka the spare bedroom, which in the 30+ years we have lived in has been used three times by niece and nephew when they were young (now in their 30s). I did this because – well, it was a mess, bears tend not to clean up well, and also because if one of us caught Covid it was the only place to separate our sleeping.

I found Atari 2400 game cartridges in their boxes and ditto Atari 800 games. I also came across an Atari jacket – never worn – a premium offer with some purchase. I showed this to husband (who has not let me get rid of either of the Ataris nor his Commodore 64 setup) to say – hey, can I get rid of these items. No, I can’t – “people pay big money for these items and after the pandemic when we can go out to ship them, we can sell them”.

Between this thought of his that everything will sell for “big money” and the fact that Goodwill and the Salvation Army locations near us shut down in the 5 years before the pandemic started is why I can’t clear anything (even more stuff – he says too good to get rid of) out of the house.

Now, when my jeans get too worn to wear or one of the tee shirts I wear daily gets holes in it or a stain on it, they become another of my pjs.
