The question is how long before trolls start writing posts on here blaming the victim?

    Nicely done, Campbell !

I’m impressed that Campbell got the threads correctly opposite: That kind of clamp, you rough-adjust by grabbing one handle in each hand then twirling it forward (close) or backward (open). Officially they are “handscrews” but most folks who use them call them by the brand name of the most common ones: Jorgenson.

I suppose it would have been too on point to have depicted that thing being applied to his neck…

Dr Tobin, pulmonologist, was spectacular. His testimony was instructive. His testimony along with slides and instructions allowed me, a layperson, to understand how Mr Floyd was slowly starved of oxygen. I found myself short of breath at times. He was brought in as an expert witness yet he did not take any pay. He testified because he felt his knowledge was vital.

At least Al Sharpton gave everybody a heads up when he shouted before the trial, “NO JUSTICE,NO PEACE!” A preview of things to come?

Thanks to #45, it is now politically correct to only admit alternate facts as evidence, and GQP agenda agreement as testimony…

The problem here is that the evidence is not in sync with the testimony of the prosecution witnesses. A prime example is the medical “expert” who claimed that opiates and meth do not have an impact on the human respiratory rate. I don’t understand why he said that. It is a long established medical fact that drugs the depress or accelerate the CNS absolutely have an impact on the respiratory rate, along with heart rate, BP, etc. The defense will destroy his credibility on this point which will seriously weaken all of his other “expert” statements.

He placed the sole cause of death as the pressure on the neck. He did not address the impact of the other officers compressing Floyd’s torso. Quite a few medical experts have suggested that the compression of the chest cavity was far more important than the neck pressure because of Floyd’s asthma and the drug depressed respiratory system. But that would require the prosecution to charge Lane and Kueng at the same level as Chauvin.

Floyd was claiming he couldn’t breathe just sitting in the squad car. Defense will argue that because he did that when he was quite obviously still breathing the cops had no reason to believe him when he was pinned. Add the toxicology report that had his fentanyl level nearly 3 time the fatal dose for a non-addict. Add multiple witnesses and medical literature in re the effect of drugs on respiration.

And, officers were trained to use that technique, were not trained to consider it as a choking hazard. That has already been publicly established by MPD officials many months ago.

The defense has a very good shot at getting Chauvin acquitted of all the charges related to the death itself.

I don’t agree with the tactics the police officer took against George Floyd and he should be punished for his actions. However, everyone who decries police officersshould walk in their shoes for one day. It ain’t an easy job. Defunding police departments will only decrease applicants for those positions. At that point crimewill surely pay!!!
