“gaunt’ would be appropos for some of my tribe. An 8-oz. variation in daily weight would be cause for 4-Alarm reaction. Others? Not so much.. But still…….Allison always drew her characters unduly svelte…

In this case, it seems more like “More pain, less gain!”
