I used to have the kids make and deliver breakfast in bed for their mom, and then clean up afterward. It was fun for them, and a family time together, even though bacon and eggs in bed is awkward. My son in law takes the kids out for the morning. No evidence of kids on Mother’s Day!
Because of the lockdowns and other nonsense, my son has not been able to go to his weekly time with his other disabled friends. That means my wife has not had any time in the house alone since all this started. So today, after dinner, my daughter and I will take my son out for a scenic drive that should last at least two hours to give their mom a break.
I may suggest that for Father’s day, after dinner, they let me go to the lease where we hunt so my best friend and I can just spend time out in the woods soaking in nature in its purest form. He and I both agree that when we are out there, it is the time best spent for the entire week.
