It is refreshing to see that not everyone buys into the trope about the Biden administration’s immigration policy.

Biden’s acting like a human being in that regard. Adults get to work on it from a little distance. Kids get shipped to (kin of some kind) as soon as they can be located AND CHECKED OUT.

Immigration is but one of many issues that will not be satisfactory unless/until we have a functional cohesive Congress working for all its people as one would find in an advanced civilized nation. There are not enough immigration judges to handle those who enter legally.

A wall? Must be a foreign perception.

It’s definitely a problem but one that we have had for quite awhile. It would be nice if the Vatican would help those Catholic poor get easy access to birth control.

Biden has to basically rebuild from the beginning any kind of process and bureaucracy dealing with getting people vetted and documented. Trump tore that all down.

Serious question I would like answers that can be verified. Under Trump OR Obama, what has been done to assist the Central American nations where so many of these immigrants are coming from? It would seem to me that rather than spending so much to make it impossible for immigrants to come in (you know what I mean, so don’t nit pick), we would have been more successful in working to make things better so that staying there is more appealing than risking death to head north. I know that Nicaragua is currently a waste of time thanks to Daniel Ortega (was just in Costa Rica and they have problems with people fleeing Nicaragua), but what about El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala? Anybody know if anything has been tried there? And as I said, please list things that are verifiable, not simply political jargon. Thanks!

Interesting comic, considering it’s from Brazil.

With bolsanaro in charge, you can’t criticize anything there or you’ll go missing.

Tossing rocks at other countries, no problem.

It’s funny the perception from the American Right and the perception from the rest of the world. We don’t have an open door policy anymore than anywhere else in the world. However, we had a better procedure under Obama than Trump. We will have a better procedure under Biden, but Trump’s administration didn’t just stop doing things in a proper manner, they have sabotaged the whole works. Which means there is no quick fix. That said, things are still much better than they were and will only get better.

Have to agree, you’d think with all the atrochious things happening in Brazil, they wouldn’t be worrying so much about America, unless they are trying to flee to America. As it is, Brazil should worry about becoming the next Saharan Desert.
