Working at a place in semi-rural area, and the cats were allowed to roam free. One cat I saw scratching at the door to come inside. I inquired why it was wanting in on such a fine day. The lady of the house said it wanted to use the litter box. Go figure! House trained!

The general rule is one litter box for each cat, plus an extra
We still have 6 boxes from when we had 5 cats, would get rid of one but if that one was someone’s favorite it could be trouble
