Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona are the two Democratic senators who are blocking the Democrats from getting rid of the filibuster. Without it, the Democrats would be able to pass laws with a 50% vote, could ignore accommodating the Republicans and we could actually accomplish something. Their reasoning is that once the filibuster is gone, the Republicans would do the same thing once they were back in power. But, what’s to keep them from doing it whether the Democrats do or not? Democrats need to kill the filibuster, start fixing the country and make so much progress without the Republican obstruction that the voters never want to vote Republican again!!
Kamala let Sen. Manchin know 75% of his constituents are in favor of the Democrats Covid relief bill. He is in favor of it now. Maybe he’ll convince his voters to quit voting against their own interests. “BuT We’Re OwNiNg ThE LiBs!”
