What will Rover do if he should catch a squirrel?

Red, A. Get the sled. B. Attach to Rover. C. Mush, and have a total blast.

Red’s in training for chasing squirrels, too. He just didn’t know it (until then).

LOL! So, how are you going to use all of your training, Red?

I think the training is working

Rover would not pull Red if he wore a harness where the leash attaches under Rover’s chin. Dog’s won’t pull from the front. They love to pull from the back.

Why is Red panting? From the 2nd panel it would appear that he is merely along for ride!

Rover, I’m afraid you have a very reluctant trainer!

I have had a couple of cats who actually would do “training” sprints and pounces before going out to hunt each morning. I also find those to be the most successful hunters.

I don’t walk my cats on a leash anymore, since one nearly dislocated my shoulder when a garbage truck approached. Fortunately, the old, leather leash broke first.

Don’t get me wrong. You don’t just decide one day to go for a long walk. My cats learned to walk with me over years of patient practice on both our parts in very quiet neighborhoods or in the woods.

The only reason he had a leash that day was because he was wearing a medical ruff. After convincing me that he did not need the leash, we continued to walk every day until the ruff could be removed. I was very careful not to laugh at him.

Your time would be better served by practicing your tree climbing rather than your running.
