We’ve been fortunate. We go camping up in the mountains about five times a year. We’ve seen several bears, but so far, none have disturbed our campsite.

One time last year, we were walking a trail heading back to our campsite, and two cubs ran across about thirty yards in front of us. We waited to see if a mama bear was close behind, but we didn’t see her. She probably had her eyes on us though. We made it back to camp without incident.

Another time, we were walking in the woods and startled a huge bear (and it startled us). Fortunately, it ran the other way.

We’ve never encountered an aggressive one. Hopefully we never do.

Bears very rarely hurt people, unless they feel threatened or feel their young threatened. Only humans travel distances to kill living beings for fun, how sick it that?

It’s a hard life, being the Apex Predator in the National Park, Gunther, but someone’s got to do it….

Well – these days lots of people are working from home – maybe with a waldo enabled robot bear?
