What wave is she referring to? Other than getting rid of the Orange Menace, and barely doing that in our effed up electoral system, Republicans gained seats in the House, in State Houses and Governor’s mansions, not to mention retaining the Senate (more than likely). There was no wave.

I guess we’ll have to wait for a Democratic wave to test this theory.

Who could imagine low income, low education, high religion people, of all hues, voting against the local commie hell spawn. Dump was an outlier.

The Republicans will either have to move left or lose the middle ground of their party. They can’t win with nothing but the MAGAts, and even the MAGAts will have to wake up and smell the coffee once they no longer have Trump to blind them. Faux news is demonstrating that. They have realized that keeping up the hoax is no longer a viable option. Republicans in congress will gradually realize that they are fighting a losing battle and they will need to jump ship to get reelected. At the present time, they only stay in power by lying and cheating in any way they can. When people are given a choice of two statements on issues that actually affect their everyday life, one that describes the Republican position and the other the Democrat’s, the Democratic position is chosen by about 85% of Democrats and Independents. No surprise there. The weird part is that just under half of Republicans also choose Democrat positions, unless they are told which position is supported by each party. Then they fall into line and choose the Republican option- 78% of the time. So, it is entirely reasonable for Republicans to lie a lot. The people running the Republican party are in that half of the Republicans who actually believe in Republican positions. They are roughly 25% of the voting public. They have no chance of ever winning a national election unless they keep as many people as possible from voting and keep the rest of them confused enough to vote against their own best interests.

The extreme right has given us herd immunity covid spreading and Putin loving.

Putin has already declared hatred for Biden, so the Russians and GOP will continue working together to sabotage the legitimate government of the USA.

Unfortunately, no- not yet, at least. If Biden Can somehow get Georgia, and a fair shake for 4 years, unlike Obama, there may yet Be a blue wave, tho. Hope springs eternal.

My wish list for the Democrats:1. That both Democratic Candidates win the GA runoff meaning the Senate will be split 50-50.2. That the Democrats then start preparing for the 2022 midterms (not to mention the “off year” races this coming November, when there will be a lot of state and local races). Wasn’t it Howard Dean who said that Dems need to run in 50 states every year, not 16 states every four years? In 2022, the GOP will be defending twice as many Senate seats as the Dems. If we get Covid under control by then, I think they have a good shot at widening their majority in the house and taking back the Senate.3. That the Democrats will stop trying to woo the hard core MAGATS and concentrate on winning the independent swing voters. They can do this by fine tuning their message and saying, for example, that they don’t want to “Defund the police” as to demilitarize the police and stating that there are some instances when sending the police in isn’t the answer. Say, a neighbor or roommate is having a drug overdose and 911 is called. Instead of sending the police, 911 instead send paramedics to assist the overdose victim and perhaps getting him/her into rehab.4. If we have a 50-50 Senate after GA, I would love to see them revive the Voting Rights Act and even take steps to prevent Gerrymandering in the state houses. But maybe that’s just me.5. Fight fire with fire. Democrats and progressives can play the fear card too. Tell the people what will ultimately happen to our economy (and the world’s) if the worst predictions of Climate Change come to pass.
