I got glasses in the 3rd grade. I vaguely remember some jeering while I waited for the glasses to come in, and when they came in they made such a difference! My whole world opened up! I kid you not! My eyes were so bad I couldn’t read the name of the stores from the signs over the covered sidewalk. I kept trying to count the # of steps to each store but every time it was different! I could see the TV (considering how I’m still addicted to it at 67 that might not be such a good thing,)! The girls would make fun as we ran around the gym to our sections and such, but I didn’t care. I could find my section WITHOUT having to ask someone!!!! And….I discovered the library….joy!!! Who gives a S**t about a bunch of insecure brains-don’t-fill-a-thimble classmates. I could SEE!!!!
