This is a completely unoriginal arc.

After school, nate and the gang hears on the radio of a kid at their school who went missing. “This is heavy.” Nate says. “Who was it?” Francis asked. “Gina Hemphill-Toms.” They all gasped. “We have to go on a quest to find her.” They all thought.

This…. could be interesting. Wonder what sort of experiment.

Nate needs more redeeming qualities. Each time he gets his butt kicked, it’s due, almost every time. The character is funny and there’s nothing really wrong with the strip, but he comes off as kind of a jerk, because of his massive ego and his failure to have a shred of self-awareness. I think if Nate figuered out how people actually feel about him, he would have a redeeming moment that makes you pity the character as opposed to laughing at him. Again, there’s nothing wrong with the strip but this would make it so much better. I think you could compare him to Michael Scott, who also has an ego, has zero self-awareness, and thinks everyone loved him. However, Michael has a redeeming quality in the fact that he NEEDS to be loved because he didn’t get it as a child, now he takes it into work with him. I think Nate has a need for attention, which has been demonstrated before, but never really fleshed out to make him more dimensional.

I think a better start for this arc could be nate and Dee Dee at the drama club room and nate finding glasses then nate leaves

…so NOW he’s farming himself out as a “certified instructor” of a "How to score no higher than “20” on any school test without really trying" course?…………

Obviously can’t see with them on judging by the critiques of his calling card…

I’m wondering how Nate (whom I admit I mistook for Francis, due to the “glasses”) misspelled “Brainiac”!
