I am aware of the contents of the guide left by the Obama administration that outlined in detail the steps needed to mitigate an epidemic (or pandemic) if one reached our shores – a guide that the Trump administration discarded or chose to ignore! Had that guide been followed, no only would there not have been the massive carnage visited upon America, but the majority of the financial devastation would have been avoid, as well!
Trump chose to totally ignore the sound advice left behind and America was devastated as a result! History will not remember Trump kindly for reasons other than his callousness and his incompetence!
My mom the nurse died of exposure to COVID-19 when an infected person took a breath and then exhaled virus particles that penetrated through her mask fabric and infected her. Masks provide almost no defense against breathing in infection particles, they only block the distance infected particles travel coming out through the mask an infected person is wearing.
Mom’s mask was pretty much not any good anymore because Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for health care workers is in short supply in many hospitals, and the doctor’s/nurses/PA/other staff who work in those places are stuck wearing worn out or contaminated stuff an awful lot of the time.
And then there is the problem that the people who think wearing a mask is surrendering their freedom don’t seem to be able to comprehend that it is possible to feel just fine and still be infected with COVID. In fact, a lot of the time people who get sick with COVID are infected by people who refuse to wear masks because they think it is a sign of weakness if they put one on. So people like that spread the disease, and cause deaths not only of the elderly but people like my mom.
A staff member at mom’s hospital died from COVID, too, a guy mom’s age. An older doctor can’t work anymore because his COVID last April left him with a long haul lung condition where he can’t walk five steps or even stand up for more than a couple of minutes before he falls down on his knees because he can’t breathe anymore.
So this Christmas please bring the present of understanding that you can kill someone like my mom, or cause a severe illness for someone, if you don’t wear a mask/distance/wash.
And please, please, please cure the mental illness that makes people think vaccination from COVID, and measles, and any other disease is a bad thing, no matter what bad thing they tell you they are afraid of. Don’t let them make the rest of us sick or dead because they believe untrue things.
Nowhere in the Constitution does it give you the right to put other lives in danger. You have the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness as long as it doesn’t interfere with the rights of others.
Thanks to Facebook and other social media, and of course Fox Propaganda, the great majority of those who voted for Trump, a fascist monster molded after Adolph Hitler, have no idea whatsoever what a cruel, sadistic sociopath he is.
